If you would like to link to an outside webpage or website, follow the same process as in section 2.9 (I) when you linked to a page on your website.
(a) Begin by using your mouse to highlight the text you want linked. You may want a single word, a phrase, or an entire sentence to serve as the link to the desired webpage or website.
(b) Leave the text highlighted and click on the Insert/Edit Link icon in your WYSIWYG editor.
(c) After clicking on the Insert/Edit Link icon, the Link Editor pop-up window will appear over your content page.
(d) Type in the URL of the page, or website you want to link to in the Link URL field. Copy and paste the entire URL in the Link URL field.
(e) Beneath the Link URL field, you will find the Target field. This option allows you to decide how users will access the linked page.
(f) Best Practice: Use the Title field in the Link Editor to create a title for your link that will display when users hover their mouse over the link. This feature is also used by software that helps people with disabilities navigate your website.
(g) Click the Insert button after you have set the Title field to activate your link.
The link title will display when a user hovers over the link with his/her computer mouse.
